Château de Codignat (France)

Singita Ebony Lodge, located on the Sand River, is a fresh and contemporary interpretation of the classic safari lodge, combining tented camp and bush lodge style. Inspired by the romance and adventure of tented camps, explorers’ abodes and campaign furniture, Ebony’s interiors are enhanced by the lustre of well-polished ebony and mahogany woods and natural fibers in cool tones. All this is brought to life by the rich, golden glow of old brass, hand-woven baskets, traditional khaki and beige tent canvas and exposed thatch. The lodge comprises 12 suites, each with its own private plunge pool and internal. External walls have been almost completely removed and replaced by canvas and glass to create new safari tent-style suites to maximize views and space, and allow guests to be immersed in nature. Outdoor pavilion decks – ideal for dining and relaxing – are suspended off the river banks as if hanging in the trees.

Chateau de Codignat hosts 19 rooms located either in the Chateau or in the two cottages laying in the park. All rooms are richly decorated with original antique furniture, tapestry, decorations, some of them also featiure a four poster bed. Different categories of rooms can welcome all different clients’ needs, from Classic to Prestige going up to our three Suites of which two are duplex, with a confortable bedrooms on the mezzanine and services on the ground floor. Suite Aldin de Codignat is our master suite, with comfortable space and great views

The restaurant of the Castle “La Tour du Chateau”, offers a refined cuisine, based on regional and quality products. Dinners and lunches can be served in the tower decorated with an antique fireplace, on the terrace or near the pool if the weather is nice. The whole Castle can be booked to organize dream weddings and any kind of private events. From this year a green garden will be harvested and all vegetables will come directly from the garden, the real Km 0 attitude!

Take a break of the daily routine and relax by the pool with a nice cocktail and a menu coming from the adjoining barbeque service! When you feel you want to move around take a bike, this year you can rent the electrical bikes at the Chateau! At your disposal also the possibility to play tennis in our private court or walking around our great park. Our reception -concierge staff is absolutely delighted to inform you about all the possible excursions and activities you will be able to do in the neighborhood.
